NTU SPORTS CLUB ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 2020

NTU Sport’s Club Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held on 9th October 2020. The meeting was held in a hybrid format. Guest of Honours, Ms Tan Siok San (Director, SAO), Ms Sheryl Low (Deputy Director, Student Sports), and Mr Chiang Chai Liang (Assistant Director, Student Sports) attended alongside with Presidents of the our Sub- Clubs and the members of the 29th and 30th Sports Club Management Committee. Members who were not physically present could stream the event live from the comfort of their own homes on Microsoft Teams.

29th Management Committee

  • Successfully ran the club from 1st September 2019 to 30th August 2020
  • Successfully held school events: Sports Challenge 2019 and Sports Exposé 2020
  • Proposed 25 amendments to the previous constitution, during an EOGM and passed all amendments with an approval rate of 98.2% from 125 participants
  • Transfer of 2 sub-clubs, International Chess and Contact Bridge to be subsumed under the NTU FastForward Special Interest Group
  • Facilitated the addition of 3 new sub-clubs: Archery, Muay Thai and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Club

30th Presidential Address Takeaways

  • Strive to build up a culture of sporting excellence in NTU
  • Provide opportunities and platforms for the sub-clubs to succeed during these uncertain times
  • Need to stay relevant to the current group of students so that the Managing Committee will be able to coordinate and assist with various sporting groups and students
  • Strive to engage more and serve the needs of sub-clubs so that they will have the necessary support
